Bricklaying Apprentice Vacancy – Position Filled!
LJ Builders Ltd, is based in Newark, Nottinghamshire. We work both locally and further afield in Nottingham, Lincoln and Grantham and are seeking a Bricklaying apprentice.
We are providing an opportunity for a full 2-year apprenticeship including College Day/Week release and other site-specific training. The Successful candidate will work alongside our experienced team and have the opportunity to work on varying types of work for a well-established and renowned company in the area.
Your duties will include:
General building work.
Mixing Mortar.
Checking measurements.
Laying brick and blocks.
Loading out materials.
Unloading deliveries.
Keeping the work area tidy and safe.
Desired skills:
No formal qualifications are required for this position, however a keen interest in the construction industry and willingness to succeed and progress are essential.
Personal qualities:
Motivated and willing to learn.
Punctual.
Reliable.
Good communication skills.
Work as part of a team and take instruction.

Skilled General Operative/Trades Person Vacancy:
We are seeking an experienced Skilled General Operative/Trades Person to join their well established family run business within the Midlands area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Skilled General Operative/Trades Person to join this building/construction company that not only offers an enjoyable workplace but offers prospects for promotion, personal training, development within and which comes with an attractive package.
The skills involved are a range of practical tasks on a construction housing site from foundation to completion. It includes unlocking and locking up the site ahead of the works, completing a wide variety of tasks, moving and unloading materials and operating machinery.
The successful candidate will need to be able to lift and carry, be practical, understand modern equipment and processes, be interested in the full range of trade works and be keen to develop within the company. A CSCS card is preferred. A minimum of four years site experience is required.
Training is given to develop people as they wish, in such items as first aid, new skills, health and safety etc.
All applicants must have held a full driving licence for at least one year and be able to make their own way to and from the site.
